“There’s no better proof that Jesus is alive than when His people share the bond they have with Him and each other with a love-starved world.”

Kandi Elliott, Director of Children’s Ministries

Ms. Kandi serves as Director of Children’s Ministries, overseeing all ministries for kids ages 3 years – 5th grade. Raised in a preacher’s home, she has been involved in ministry since childhood. “My earliest recollection of serving in the church is folding bulletins on a Saturday night at the tender age of 5!” And that was just the beginning. “Serving God through the local church is just a natural part of my life thanks to my parents’ upbringing.” She brings that same background to her own family, who faithfully serve alongside her. Kandi’s passion is to see kids grow in their faith, equipping them to be more like Jesus at home, school, and play. She strives to help others catch the vision of Changing The World One Child At A Time. “The key is to love kids like Jesus loves them. When you love kids like that, the rest comes naturally.”

Lindsey Abbasy, Worship Director

Lindsey grew up leading worship every Sunday morning out of a hymnal as part of her family’s ministry to senior citizens in senior housing developments. After graduating from TF South, she went on to complete a B.A. in Psychology from Wheaton College, and an M.A. in School Counseling from Concordia University Chicago.  In addition to now being on staff at Cornerstone Church as the Worship Director, Lindsey is a mom to three wonderful kids and resides in Lansing with her husband Saad.

Justin Rodgers, Youth Director

Mr. Justin Rodgers serves as Cornerstone Church’s Youth Director, overseeing Pulse (middle school) and Rise (high school) ministries.  Justin grew up in a loving, God-fearing family and gave his life to Christ as a young child. “Since my conversion, I am thankful God has blessed me to have great pastors, teachers, mentors, and experiences which have developed my faith.” Justin grew as a student leader and continued to serve as a youth ministry leader following his graduation from his former church. In addition to directing our Cornerstone Church youth ministries, Justin’s time is spread across a variety of different ministries. He serves as the CEO of a non-profit ministry for young adults (Supply), leads a multi-church prayer initiative (Pray Chicago Southland), is on staff at two other churches (Living Springs Church & Grace Church), all while being an active member at his home church, Thorn Creek Church. Justin is also recently married to his wonderful wife, Suzanne.
